I’ve been taking photos and videos since my early childhood. I would use my dad’s ancient camcorder and disposable cameras to take photos and videos of me, my brother, cousin, friend, the dog, even inanimate objects…basically whoever I could coerce into agreeing to participate. I once had my brother pose in a tux for wedding portraits with a life-size stuffed version of the pokemon “Charmander” who wore my first communion dress and my sister’s Irish dance wig in order to fit the part. So I guess you could say I’ve been doing wedding photography since the late 90s.
I stubbornly prefer to capture people naturally as much as possible—unposed shots with natural lighting and limited editing are always desired qualities in my photos. While I shy away from the staged, I love to collaborate with clients, stylists, and assistants to get suggestions and insights for shots whenever possible. I’m open to all creative approaches, even if they are unfamiliar to me. I’m constantly building off of and learning from others and always appreciate feedback.
